Now that everyone is moving to cloud hosting as it’s easier to deploy and maintain and scale, many users face issues while installing packages. And sometimes you might have to remove those packages.
This happened to us few days ago while installing LAMP on our server and we found that our MySQL installation was faulty. The only thing that made sense at that point was to completely uninstall MySQL from our server. Here are the steps to do it:
- login to your server terminal
- type the following code:
sudo apt-get remove --purge mysql* sudo apt-get autoremove sudo apt-get autoclean
This will remove all MySQL related packages.
